Kids in Motion Preschool

Preschool

Kids in Motion offers a fun, warm, safe environment that nurtures a young child's curiosity, imagination, and love for learning. Our preschool serves children from ages 2 to 4 years of age. We believe that children learn through play and our curriculum develops confidence, creativity, and critical-thinking skills—all while promoting positive outcomes.

Preschool Extras:

  • All meals are included-breakfast (between 7:30am-8:45am,) lunch, and afternoon snack.
  • One weekly swim lesson with our Red Cross Certified Water Safety Instructor

Curriculum

The Creative Curriculum® for Preschool, Sixth Edition is one of the most widely used pre-K curricula in the nation. It’s comprehensive, research-based, research-proven, and it features exploration and discovery as a way of learning.

Foundation volumes help teachers create high-quality learning environments and support deep understanding of early childhood best practices, theories, and research. Robust Daily Resources provide the instructional tools and materials to engage children in project-based investigations and make every moment of the day meaningful, intentional, and engaging.

The Creative Curriculum® for Preschool is…

  • Proven to increase kindergarten readiness
  • Academically rigorous and promotes social-emotional development
  • Rated higher than any other preschool curriculum
  • Inclusive, supporting all children
  • Aligned to all state early learning guidelines and the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes

Nap/Rest Time

Children attending Kids in Motion nap between the hours of 12pm -2pm.  Preschool Nap Time, one early childhood expert says,  can be a learning opportunity that helps kids recharge while establishing healthy sleep habits.

Overtiredness can affect a child’s mood and, ironically, may make it harder to fall asleep. Insufficient sleep can cause a number of additional problems for young kids:

  • Daytime sleepiness
  • Crankiness or irritability, especially late in the afternoon
  • Difficulty getting up in the morning
  • Inattentive, impatient, hyperactive or aggressive behaviors
  • Trouble focusing on schoolwork or other tasks

Family Involvement

Here at Kids in Motion, we value our parents. Establishing a partnership between teacher, front office staff, and parents is a high priority. Parents are essential in their child's educational and developmental needs.

We offer many family participation events throughout the year which include, but are not limited to, Trick or Treating, Thanksgiving lunch, Winter performance, and Mother's Day breakfast. Parents are encouraged to volunteer for events such as our Halloween Costume Parade and as a Read for the Record Guest Reader. Children also enjoy social events throughout the year where parents can sign up to bring goodies requested by the teacher.

FAQs

 1. What paperwork do I need to sign up?

  • An up to date physical and shot records,  and completed registration packet.

2. What else will my child need?

  • A family photo, sheets (full crib size sheet and blanket,) extra change of clothes, bathing suit, and towel. All clothing should be clearly labeled.

3. What safety precautions are you taking in light of COVID-19?

  • We always put health and safety of our children, families, and staff first. In addition to our normal sanitation and cleaning, we hired a staff member full time to constantly sanitize toys, bathrooms, and playgrounds after each use. We also are following the CDC recommended guidelines on 1 teacher to 9 children in a room. Children are expected to wear a mask all day (except during physical activities such as swimming and outdoor play) and maintain social distancing.

Nutrition

Kids in Motion participates with the Florida Department of Health Childcare Food Program to serve quality and nutritious meals and snack to student.  Children attending Kids in Motion preschool full time are served Breakfast (served between 7:15am-8:00am,) lunch, and an afternoon snack. Our meals are planned around the likes of the children that attend our center. We strive to keep our menu filled with fresh, flavorful options.

We believe meal times are an important part of the overall learning experience, so much so our teachers join our students during meals. We teach and positively reinforce children proper hand washing techniques, table manners, and discussing the colors, tastes and other aspects of each meal with our students.
